For our office in Amersfoort we are looking for a Freelance Security Advisor. CSD & CSE offer security training & consultancy services to organisations working in hazardous environments.
                              
CSD: The Centre for Safety and Development (CSD) is a non-profit foundation specialised in safety and security for humanitarian and development organisations worldwide. We believe that sharing security knowledge and skills enables other humanitarian organisations to work in unsafe areas in order to reduce human suffering and bring about a better world.
 
CSE is a spin-off from the Centre for Safety and Development. CSE is specialised in Travel Risk Management (TRM) We offer security training & consultancy services to companies working in hazardous environments.
 
Our Goal: We enable our clients to learn and practice the competences needed to work, live and travel in difficult and potentially dangerous circumstances. Hereby diminishing the risks of a calamity, which is crucial for keeping employees safe and important for programme/business continuity.
 
Security advisor (Freelance)
As our security advisor you will advise CSD and CSE clients in developing and improving their safety and security policies and plans. You will do this by working on a one to one relationship with NGOs, (governmental) institutions and companies. Within your work you always strive to the highest quality.
 
Key responsibilities and activities:
  • Develop and implement security policies for a large range of (international) organizations
  • Develop crisis and field security plans and provide security briefings
  • Provide Crisis Management training
  • Develop country risk analysis
  • Stay up to date of international developments in the field of safety and security
  • Represent CSD in relevant security meetings
  • Write risk assessments
  • Train employees in order to prepare them for working in unsafe environments

Who are we looking for?
  • Either you have the Dutch nationality or a current work permit for the Netherlands
  • You are honest, intelligent and hardworking
  • You have a Master’s degree in security management, intelligence and security or international relations or you have elaborated experience (at least five years) in the field of safety and security
  • You have minimum 3 years of experience managing safety & security in volatile contexts
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English
  • You have coaching capabilities
  • You have strong analytical capabilities and are a good writer
  • You have excellent communication skills
  • You enjoy working with strong and committed teams. You like the challenge of helping clients find ways to improve the safety and security culture within their organization
  • You are comfortable explaining complex policies & procedures in simple non-technical terms
  • You can host a workshop and can train team members to improve their skills
  • Your work style builds trust and calmness within the team
  • You see opportunities for (potential) clients

What do we offer?
You will be part of a small and dedicated team including three security advisors. We work in an international environment of nonprofit organizations and companies operating around the globe. You will regularly travel within the Netherlands and on occasion in (high) risks international areas. Your working hours are flexible.
