Vision and Mission

Vision

In a world where the need for help grows ever greater, respect for aid-organisations and other NGO's is rapidly decreasing. We see that NGO staff run ever-greater risks of becoming victims of violence and conflict. This will jeopardize the continuity of aid operations and prolongs the humanitarian suffering.

We believe that sharing knowledge and skills through training courses, consultancy and other services contributes to the reduction of the security risks of those who work abroad in order to help others.

Mission

Centre for Safety and Development is an independent not-for-profit organisation (NGO) that aims to contribute to the security and the safety of aid workers. It seeks to achieve this objective by offering a range of professional and accessible training courses, consultancy and services to NGO's and other humanitarian organisations worldwide.

Principles

Integrity

Honesty and trustworthiness characterise the relationship between CSD and its clients. Agreements are binding, and CSD can be held to this promise. We aim to build a stable relationship with you by being a reliable partner, both now and in the future.

Professional

The trainers are without exception experienced and knowledgeable coaches, selected after a lengthy process. They distinguish themselves by their practical ability, and are qualified to teach the necessary skills in a pleasant manner.

Quality

Because CSD offers its services in the field of safety we aim at top quality. Safety is of vital importance, and we go for nothing less.

Non-profit

Because CSD is a non-profit organisation, the costs remain relatively low. We aim for a safe working environment for workers abroad, and not for profit. You therefore receive the best services for an extremely reasonable price.

Transparent

To this end we choose to deal clearly and plainly with the client. From experience we know that this direct approach is appreciated by our customers. The service offered to you must be clearly stated, and also the price you pay for it.

Humour

Safety is vital, but this does not prevent the trainers from giving the courses with a healthy dose of humour. The courses are intensive, but in a relaxed way. They are for people, and by people, preferring the informal to the formal approach.
